Muscle Art
Published in Paperback by Heretic Books (April, 2003)
Author: Ray Lawrence
Average review score:

Almost like photographs!
I'm so glad Gay Men's Press published this exciting book of Ray Lawrence's "Muscle Art." This artist draws the dream body in vivid color with such clarity and detail they look almost like photographs. These nude male drawings are mostly in classic poses, with some interactions, wrestling, etc. These are musclemen we would all like to look like. Ray Lawrence must have had some beautiful models to work from, or a excellent imagination. If you're a bodybuilder or just enjoy this type of art of beautifully drawn nude men, this is a good book for your enjoyment and collection.

My Bears' Counting House
Published in Hardcover by Michael O'Mara Books (October, 1995)
Authors: Gina Bencraft and Ray Mutimer
Average review score:

Wonderful introduction to numbers!
A colorful and fun series of number books, with one number per book. The number 3 book, for example, has three of almost everything on the pages - makes it fun to look for things, and kids really learn what "three" means. The small size and focussed topic make them great for small hands. My daughters both loved these books well before they were 1, and continued reading them until past age 4. Actually, now that #1 is starting to read, she'll probably use these for reading practice too! That's a lot of use out of one set of books!

My Bears' Schoolhouse
Published in Hardcover by Michael O'Mara Books (01 September, 1995)
Authors: Gina Bencraft and Ray Mutimer
Average review score:

The Bears are adorable, educational, & just a bit British
This collection is fantastic! It contains six books all featuring the same classroom of bears. The illustrations are straightforward, simplified yet realistically drawn. These books have something for all ages. My infant was fascinated by the pretty schoolhouse container box. My 18 month old can pick out the repeat characters. Preschoolers will be able to learn concepts like colours, addition, and telling time. Plus, you get to chuckle at a few Britishisms, like a landscape featuring meadows, hedgehogs, and children who "tidy up". Very cute!

My Father Bertrand Russell
Published in Paperback by Saint Augustine's Pr (December, 1997)
Authors: Katharine Tait and Ray Monk
Average review score:

A wonderful book!
Writing with some of the clarity of her father and a perhaps a bit more emotional realism, Katharine Tait gives readers a nuanced and intimate look into the personal life of the great philosopher. Despite her anger, ambivalence, and frustrations, she clearly loved her father immensely. Anyone interested in Russell the man will find this book utterly absorbing.

Mythical Birds & Beasts from Many Lands
Published in Hardcover by Dutton Books (May, 1997)
Authors: Margaret Mayo and Jane Ray
Average review score:

Mythical Birds and Beasts
My daughter loves myths and folk tales; and she really enjoyed Mythical Birds and Beasts. The illustrations are beautiful and numerous; the myths in language easy to understand. (This is not an extremely short book, however. Not a picture book.) It includes stories about famous mythical creatures such as the unicorn and mermaid, and some that I had never heard of before such as the feathered snake or the Naga.

Mythologies of the World: The Illustrated Guide to Mythological Beliefs & Customs
Published in Hardcover by Checkmark Books (October, 2001)
Authors: Michael McKenzie, Richard Prime, Lisa George, and Ray Dunning
Average review score:

Nice intro to mythology
If you do not have any idea on any culture's mythology this book is for you. After an intro on mythology, its role in societies, the book goes to tell the stories on mythologies of the different cultures, ancient civilizations and today's primitive societies. If you want to have deeper knowledge do not miss the references at the end of the book.

Nazarene Jewish Christianity: From the End of the New Testament Period Until Its Disappearance in the Fourth Century
Published in Hardcover by Magnes Press (August, 1992)
Author: Ray A. Pritz
Average review score:

Messianic Judaism in the Early Centuries
I know of no other book that traces as faithfully and as well documented as this book by Ray Pritz. He quotes the early church fathers, tracing Jewish believers who believed in Jesus until the third century. The Gentile Church did not know how to handle them because they remained Jewish. The Jewish Community did not know what to do with them because they believed that Jesus was their Messiah. They were caught in between, much as the Messianic Jewish synagogues of today.
